The first part of our debut tour has come to an end, and we couldn’t be happier. Every city, every stage, every audience brought its own kind of magic, each one special and welcoming to the music in their own way.

Last week we had the pleasure of singing live on Klara, on the program Music Matters with Cara Van der Auwera. It was fantastic to present our debut album, Emerald Forests, and share our music with such enthusiastic listeners. A cappella music is certainly not dead!We had a wonderful conversation with Cara about the album, close harmony singing, and our experience collaborating with various musicians and arrangers. We also sang "Pennies from Heaven" live in the studio, an arrangement specially arranged for us by pianist/composer Wouter Van den Broeck. The title comes from the opening lyric of Lennert Baert's reimagined version of Joni Mitchell’s Big Yellow Taxi, which truly touched and inspired us from our very first read through.The songs themselves may be familiar, but they carry new life through close-harmony arrangements created especially for us by some of Belgium’s finest jazz musicians, composers, and arrangers. Singing these pieces and their re-imagined versions has been a journey of discovery, finding new colors and approaches in our voices, and shaping them into something uniquely ours. Something wholly Nelja.We’re releasing Emerald Forests on the anniversary of our very first concert, three years ago. For us, it’s a milestone and a celebration of everything we’ve built together since then. We hope you enjoy every note.
